6U–10U are for boys and girls. 12U and 14U are boys divisions — girls 10U and up play in the girls divisions, where 12U players choose Rec (with 10U) or Comp (with 14U). High-school girls play in Winter only. Sundays in Fall & Winter, Friday nights in Spring.

NFL Flag Tucson is led by Coach Barrie and Coach Marcos — Tucson Turf Elite Football coaches with multiple NFL Flag Regional championships, Hard Count national titles, and top-4 finishes at NFL Flag Nationals between them. Coach Barrie led the 16U girls to gold at the USA Select Bowl and won a 4A Arizona state championship at Salpointe Catholic; Coach Marcos was an assistant on that state-title staff.

Hundreds of games coached on the sport's biggest stages — and all of it goes into training the refs, supporting the coaches, and running game days that start on time.

THE ROAD TO NATIONALS

The road to NFL Flag Nationals starts in NFL Flag Tucson. In two years, nine teams from this league have won an NFL Flag Regional and made the trip — and the 12U Chargers won it all in 2025.

FAQ

Where and when are games?

Sundays in the Fall and Winter seasons, Friday nights in the Spring — four fields running at once.

Fall — Mt. View High School (NW Tucson), September to November.
Winter — Mt. View High School, January to March.
Spring — Friday nights, April to May.

When and where are practices?

Practice times and locations are set by each team's coach — most teams practice once or twice a week.

How much does a season cost?

$179 per player — $149 for 6U and the girls-only divisions. Early-bird pricing when you register early, plus a $25 sibling discount. NFL jersey, shorts, and team flags included.

What division should my child play in?

6U–10U are coed; 12U and 14U are boys divisions. Girls 10U and up play the girls divisions — Girls 10–12U (12U plays Rec) or Girls 12–14U (12U plays Comp) — with high-school girls in Winter. Ages are as of August 1st, and registration automatically shows the divisions your child is eligible for. Players may play up one division, never down.

My kid has never played. Is that OK?

Yes — league play is the perfect place to learn flag football.

What does my child need for games?

Just a mouthguard (cleats highly recommended). We provide the NFL Flag jersey, shorts, and a team set of flags.

How do I follow the schedule and team messages on my phone?

Ask your coach to import the team into the free GameChanger app — NFL Flag Tucson syncs rosters and schedules with it. Once the team is imported, log in with the email you used at registration and the team appears automatically. Setup steps are in the Coach's Playbook.

What should we know before our first gameday?

It's all in the Gameday Guide — where to watch, weather policy, uniforms and gear, and how our league plays.

How long is each game?

Two 20-minute halves with a running clock and a 5-minute halftime; each team gets 3 timeouts. Playoff games may be shortened to 12-minute halves.

How are teams formed? Can I register my own team?

Teams form from friend and coach requests made during registration; everyone else is placed with kids from the same school or area. Full-team registration (with coach) is available too.

How do I request a coach or friend?

During registration you can request a coach and friends for your child's team — double-check the spelling of the names so we can match everyone up.

How can I volunteer to coach?

Register your player and select the Volunteer opportunities during registration. Head coaches are refunded one free player registration.

How many players are on a team?

Rosters run 6 to 10 players. Need room for more than 10? Email info@TucsonNFLFlag.com.

How many games in a season?

A 6-game minimum plus single-elimination playoffs, every season.

What are the rules?

Official NFL FLAG rules, with kid-friendly adaptations in 6U/8U (no blitzing, no-run-zone off, coach allowed on the field).

What size football is used?

PeeWee for 6U and 8U; Junior for 10U and up.

What about tournaments?

To play in NFL Flag tournaments, players (and all roster teammates) must have played in an official NFL Flag league — like this one — within the last 12 months.

Are discounts available for military or first responders?

Yes — 20% with valid ID. Email info@tucsonnflflag.com for your discount code before you register.

What's the refund policy?

Full refund up to 3 weeks before the first game (when uniforms are ordered); 50% until the 2nd game; no refunds after, and service fees are non-refundable. If a season is cancelled by events beyond our control before week 4, we refund 50%; after week 4, no refund. Email info@TucsonNFLFlag.com.
